 Deuteronomy 29:10-12 (AKJV) You stand this day all of you before the LORD your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel, Your little ones, your wives, and your stranger that is in your camp, from the hewer of your wood to the drawer of your water: That you should enter into covenant with the LORD your God, and into his oath, which the LORD your God makes with you this day: Deuteronomy 31:1,2 (AKJV) And Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel. And he said to them, I am an hundred and twenty years old this day. Deuteronomy 31:28-30 (AKJV) Gather to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them. For I know that after my death you will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because you will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands. And Moses spoke in the ears of all the congregation of Israel the words of this song, until they were ended. Deuteronomy 29:18 (AKJV) Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turns away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that bears gall (Bitterness) and wormwood; Hebrews 12:14-17 (AKJV) Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. ...
